About Love Play Learn Apprenticeship Program
TERM OF APPRENTICESHIP:
Love Play Learn has partnered with Milwaukee County and Milwaukee Area Technical College to offer the opportunity to gain on the job experience while completing your degree in Early Childhood Education.
The term of apprenticeship shall be Hybrid, which has been established to be 24 months of not less than 4,432 hours. In addition to the specified hours, the apprentice must successfully attain the
competencies described in these program provisions. Hours of labor shall be the same as established for other skilled employees in the profession.
SPECIAL PROVISIONS:
The apprentice must:
1. Obtain Infant/Child, AED, First Aid and CPR certification during the first three months of the program and
maintain it throughout.
2. Complete DCF certification requirements to provide care to children within the first six months of the
program.
3. Register within the first six months of the program and keep their registration updated.
4. Successfully complete the 8-Hour Transition to Trainer in the final year of the program at a WTC.
5. Optional: Complete the 30 credits required for the Education Technical Diploma prior to completion of the
apprenticeship.
